"Making your security our business since 1975"

Detection Security Co., Inc. offers Cellular Communications for all its different types of systems.

The cell unit works by using the cellular network to send alarms to the central station. The unit can be installed on any alarm system having adequate cellular coverage.

Unlike the WARN radio network, the cell unit depends on the cellular network's reliability and redundancy. If power is lost in your area, your cell unit has backup power, but the cell tower(s) used to send the alarm data might not. If the cell tower is down for maintenance or disaster, your alarm data might not reach the central station.

The most popular types of cell communicators used by Detection Security Co., Inc. are manufactured by Telular Corporation. Here are some of the models used:

TG1EXPRESS -- alarm communicator used as a primary communicator for residential applications. Unit works with almost any alarm control panel.

TG4 -- alarm communicator that can be used as a primary or backup alarm communicator for residential and light commercial applications.

TG7FS -- alarm communicator specifically designed to meet NFPA 72 national fire code for communications from commercial fire systems. Can be installed as a primary communicator or as a backup and still meet code.

Telguard Interactive Service is now available for most alarm control panels using Telular cellular service on the 3G network. This service provides remote arming control of your system and allows you to receive mobile notifications of any alarm status change, as well as view arming and alerting history with your smart phone.
